INTERNATIONAL, RBTVDISWAY.ID - Gold is a valuable precious metal and is often used as an investment instrument for the future.
The stable price of gold increases over time due to its rarity.
However, it turns out that 99% of Earth's gold is stored in one location. However, humans cannot reach this location because it is buried in the Earth's core.
"What we can conclude is that 99 percent of Earth's gold is in the core," said researcher Bernard Wood from Macquarie University.
Wood and his team, through research, successfully located the gold. The study was inspired by asteroids with similar compositions to Earth.

They measured the composition of carbonaceous chondrites in meteorites from these asteroids. From there, the asteroid's composition became a reference for measuring the composition of Earth's material.
Their findings revealed that elements insoluble in molten iron would not be present in Earth's core. Therefore, there are elements that are more abundant in the crust than in the core.
The research team's assumption is that Earth's core has a similar composition to meteorites. Next, they calculated which elements dissolved in the iron.

The United States Space Agency (NASA) had the same logic as Wood. The agency had a mission to study an asteroid called Psyche, which was said to be cheaper than going to Earth's core.
If NASA successfully brought back gold from Psyche, this would create new problems on Earth, as gold prices have plummeted.
IFL Science also reported on the abundance of gold in Earth's core. Reportedly, the gold could coat the entire planet to a thickness of 50 cm.
