Abundant Gold Reserves at Mount Pani, Gorontalo, Indonesia

In the Mount Pani Gorontalo area, large amounts of gold are stored.--

INTERNATIONAL, RBTVDISWAY.IDIndonesia is currently a significant player in the global gold production industry, contributing approximately 4% of total world gold production.

Interestingly, most of Indonesia's gold production comes from a mine said to hold the world's largest gold reserves, amounting to 67.4 million ounces.

This magnificent mine is majority-owned by the United States-based Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., making it one of the largest taxpayers to the Indonesian government.

However, the focus of attention goes beyond this giant mine. Pohuwato Regency, located at the western tip of Gorontalo Province, has attracted attention as a potential source of natural resources, including gold mining at Mount Pani.

Since the Dutch colonial era, this area has been a center of attention with its long history in the gold mining industry, particularly at Mount Pani, Pohuwato, where a struggle between the local communities has been ongoing since 1898.

The Pani Gold Project in Gorontalo, Sulawesi, will become one of the largest primary gold mines in Indonesia.

With mineral resources of 6.7 million ounces of gold, the Pani Gold Project will be a low-cost, long-lived gold mine.

The history of Mount Pani, hidden in Hulawa Village, Buntulia District, Pohuwato, reaches a fascinating depth.

With mineral resources of 275.8 million tons and an abundant gold content of 0.75 g per ton, equivalent to 6.63 million ounces, this mountain has become a symbol of stunning natural wealth.

Since ancient times, local communities have managed the mining on Mount Pani, forming a village named Hulawa Village, meaning "Gold."

In fact, one piece of evidence of the Pohuwato mine dates back to colonial times. One of the regulations of the Dutch colonial government, as the rulers of Pagoeat (Pohuwato), required the Dutch to pay tribute in gold to the Controleur, Jogugu, and Marsaoleh, appointed by the Dutch government.
