The Tumpang Pitu Gold Mine was first discovered in 1997 by PT Aneka Tambang (Antam), and was subsequently acquired by PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk in 2012. After exploration and mining, the mine officially began production in 2016.

The Tumpang Pitu Gold Mine is located in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, Indonesia. It is located in a protected forest area at an altitude of approximately 1,300 meters above sea level. Several villages are also located around the mine, including Tumpang Pitu, Pancer, and Sumberagung.

The Tumpang Pitu Gold Mine has gold reserves of 8.5 million ounces and is estimated to produce approximately 350,000 ounces of gold annually.

The mining method used is open-pit mining using heavy equipment such as excavators and dump trucks.

The Tumpang Pitu Gold Mine has a significant impact on the surrounding environment. Gold mining can cause environmental damage such as soil erosion, water pollution, and loss of wildlife habitat.
