According to the Head of the East Java Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Office, the seven potential gold mining locations are Malang, Lumajang, Tulungagung, Blitar, Jember, Pacitan, and Trenggalek.

The following are seven potential gold mining locations in East Java:

1. Lumajang

This area also has potential gold mining potential. Eight experts have been assigned to collect samples and conduct research on gold mineral deposits in the Lumajang area.

2. Tulungagung

This region has a famous tourist spot, Telaga Warna (Colorful Lake) in Panggunguni Village. The lake apparently contains arsenic and other minerals such as gold and lead.

The government has prohibited tourists from swimming or drinking the water from the lake due to its dangers. The government is still conducting research to determine whether the lake actually contains gold.

3. Malang

Malang City is a region in East Java known for its tourism. However, many people are unaware that Malang has gold deposits.

The Malang regional government has also mapped areas with mining potential. This mapping aims to better synchronize spatial planning and regional planning between the district and provincial governments.

4. Blitar

The Blitar region also offers potential gold mining. Areas that produce gold include Mount Klitik, Wates, and Wonotirto. The government is still working to develop this gold mining potential.

5. Pacitan

Pacitan is one of the regions in East Java with gold mining potential. The potential gold mine is located in Kebonsari Village, Punung District, Pacitan. The mine is small-scale, and the community manages it manually.
