Meanwhile, Banyuwangi Regency ranks fifth among the largest gold-producing regions in Indonesia.

The gold mine here is Tumpang Pitu, or Tujuh Bukit, in Sumberagung, which is managed by PT Bumi Suksesindo (BSI).

This mine has mineral reserves of 1.9 billion tons and a gold content of 28 million ounces.

Currently, BSI uses 992 hectares of land for its Tumpang Pitu mining operations.

This makes Banyuwangi Regency one of the largest gold-producing regencies in East Java.

1. Malang

Malang City is a region in East Java known for its tourism. However, many people are unaware that Malang has gold deposits.

The Malang regional government has also mapped areas with mining potential.

This mapping aims to better synchronize spatial planning and regional spatial planning between the district and provincial governments.

2. Lumajang

This region also has potential for gold mining. Eight experts have been assigned to collect samples and conduct research on gold mineral deposits in the Lumajang area.

3. Tulungagung

This region has a famous tourist spot, Telaga Warna (Colorful Lake) in Panggunguni Village. The lake apparently contains arsenic and other minerals such as gold and lead.

The government has prohibited tourists from swimming or drinking the water due to its dangers.
