"We market concentrate worldwide and primarily to the domestic copper smelter, PT Smelting. We operate in the remote highlands of the Sudirman Mountains, Mimika Regency, Papua Province, Indonesia," states PTFI's official website.
The mine in the Grasberg mineral area in Papua is one of the largest copper and gold deposits in the world. PTFI is currently mining in the final phase of the Grasberg open-pit mine.
