The gold mine in Central Kalimantan is located in Pujon Village, Central Kapuas District, Kapuas Regency.

This village has been a center of gold mining activity since the 1980s, with the majority of its population depending on the mining industry for their livelihood.

This activity involves not only legal but also illegal mining, which has given rise to various conflicts and social problems in the local community.

Although most residents appear to live comfortably, owning cars and motorcycles, the impacts of illegal mining often lead to environmental disasters and internal conflict.

The local government and relevant parties continue to strive to regulate and control mining activities to ensure they comply with existing regulations, while safeguarding the environment and the sustainability of the local economy.
