East Java, Indonesia, Has a Lot of Gold, Rivaling the Gold in Papua

One of the largest gold-producing regions in Indonesia is in East Java, namely Banyuwangi Regency.

Meanwhile, Banyuwangi Regency ranks fifth among the largest gold-producing regions in Indonesia.

The gold mine here is Tumpang Pitu, or Tujuh Bukit, in Sumberagung, which is managed by PT Bumi Suksesindo (BSI).

This mine has mineral reserves of 1.9 billion tons and a gold content of 28 million ounces.

Currently, BSI uses 992 hectares of land for its Tumpang Pitu mining operations.

This makes Banyuwangi Regency one of the largest gold-producing regencies in East Java.
