This mine is operated by PT Bumi Resources Minerals (BRMS), a 36% stake of which is held by PT Bumi Resources (BUMI). According to BRMS calculations, each ton of ore mined has the potential to produce 4.3 grams of pure gold.
The Poboya gold mine project in Palu, operated by BRMS, is expected to begin trial production in the fourth quarter of 2019. Production in the first year is estimated at 100,000 tons of ore. This production level is expected to increase to 180,000 tons of ore in the second year.
If mining activities go smoothly, gold production from this Palu mine could increase to 600,000 tons of ore in the next few years. The construction and production permit for this mine is valid until 2050.
