In August 2008, Kampung Keling officially changed its name to Kampung Madras. Since then, public transportation has operated on the Sambu-Kampung Madras-Tanjung Sari route.

The people of Kampung Madras are known for maintaining tolerance in their daily lives.

Although the majority of the population is Hindu and Sikh, there are also Muslims.

This is reflected in the presence of various places of worship in the village, such as a gurdwara for Sikhs and the Shri Mariamman Temple.

Furthermore, Kampung Madras is home to the Ghaudiyah Mosque, whose name is inspired by a community of Indian Muslim descent in Iran. Interestingly, all places of worship in Kampung Madras are built close to each other, creating a harmonious atmosphere.

The residents of Kampung Madras actively work together and help each other prepare for various activities during religious celebrations.

This well-maintained tolerance makes other ethnic groups, such as Chinese and Malay, who also live there, feel comfortable and accepted.

With interfaith harmony, Kampung Madras is a living example of a community that respects and honors differences. This creates a conducive environment for all residents, regardless of ethnic or religious background.
