To perform the metatah ceremony, many things must be prepared to fulfill the entire procession. Essential equipment includes:

1. Offerings

2. A pavilion complete with a newly made bed (sukla) accompanied by pillows, mattresses, sheets, or mats depicting images of Sang Hyang Semara and Sang Hyang Ratih

3. A hollowed-out yellow coconut whose water is then drained, which will be used to remove the saliva of the metatah participants

4. A bowl containing equipment for filing teeth, such as a mirror, chisel, and betel leaves

5. Several pieces of white and yellow cloth used to cover the metatah participants' bodies during the tooth filing process.

Metatah Stages

1. Magumi Padangan

Magumi Lihat is the first metatah procession, performed by asking for holy water in the kitchen to cleanse oneself both spiritually and spiritually.

This ceremony signifies that the adult (metatah participant) is ready to settle down and take responsibility for his or her family. 2. Ngekeb

The ngekeb ceremony is held in a meten (house) or building, or in seclusion in bed. This ceremony signifies that participants in the metatah ceremony must promise to control their inner demons.

3. Mabyakala

Mabyakala is a ceremony performed in the front yard of the house with the aim of cleansing themselves of evil spirits originating from within.
