6 Mountains in Indonesia That Hold Gold, Much of Which Has Yet to Be Extracted

There are 6 mountains in Indonesia that have gold reserves.--

The mining area eventually passed on to the local community, leading to the establishment of a village around the mountain area, namely Hulawa Village, Buntulia District, Pohuwato Regency.

In the Gorontalo language, Hulawa means gold. To avoid divisions within the local community in the 1980s, they formed the Dharma Tani Marisa Village Unit Cooperative (KUD).

In 1987, the local community turned Mount Pani into a livelihood.

Then, in 1988, many people were mining at the site, prompting the Gorontalo Regent to assist the community.

Indonesia's gold mountains demonstrate the country's rich natural resources. However, behind the promising shine of gold, various serious challenges lurk, ranging from environmental damage, illegal mining activities, to complex social conflicts.

Therefore, gold potential must be managed wisely and sustainably, so that its benefits are not only enjoyed momentarily, but also provide long-term prosperity for local communities and preserve the environment for future generations.
