Occupying second place, the total gold ore reserves on Sulawesi Island are 557.05 million tons.

The gold producers in Sulawesi are J Resources, PT. Meares Soputan Mining, and PT. Tambang Tondano Nusajaya.

J Resources itself is a subsidiary of PT. J Resources Asia Pasifik, Tbk (PSAB), located in Bolaang Mangondow and covering a land area of 28,150 hectares.

PT. Meares Soputan Mining has a mine in Bitung City, North Minahasa, North Sulawesi, covering an area of 8,969 hectares.

Finally, PT. Tambang Tondano Nusajaya has a mine in Mount Lipeh, Bitung City, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi, covering an area of 30,848 hectares.

3. Nusa Tenggara

The Nusa Tenggara Islands rank third with gold ore reserves of 506.9 million tons. Gold in the Nusa Tenggara region is managed by PT. Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMNT).

Located in Batu Hijau, West Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, AMNT is a subsidiary of PT. Medco Energi Internasional, Tbk (MEDC) and has a land area of approximately 25,000 hectares.

4. Java

Indonesia's most populous island also holds abundant gold ore reserves. Java ranks fourth with total gold ore reserves of 396.9 million tons.

Gold producers in Java include PT. Aneka Tambang, Tbk (ANTM) and PT. Bumi Suksesindo. In addition to Papua, ANTM also operates gold mines in Java, spread across several locations.

ANTM's gold mines in Java include the Cimanggu and Cibitung Districts, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, covering a total area of 5,302 hectares.

Additionally, ANTM's gold mines are located in Clarinem, Papandayan, Garut, West Java, covering a total area of 4,513 hectares, and in Pongkor, Bogor, West Java.
