Gold Bars Featuring President Soekarno's Image Found in Indonesia's Komering River

INTERNATIONAL, RBTVDISWAY.ID - The Komering River, a tributary of the Musi River, is also known as the Batanghari Sembilan River.

Some time ago, residents of Tanjung Lubuk, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, were shocked by the discovery of gold bars featuring the image of Indonesia's first President, Ir. Soekarno, in this river.

This unique discovery became a hot topic among the local community when residents discovered antiques such as a crown and a kecak bracelet at the bottom of the Komering River.

These historical objects are thought to be relics from the royal era, creating an aura of mystery and awe surrounding them.

The discovery not only included precious metals bearing Soekarno's image, but also a gold crown and even a gold bar with a dragon motif, which was found on Friday, August 11, 2023.

The Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar) of Ogan Komering Ilir Regency (OKI) intervened to verify the authenticity of the objects suspected by local residents to be treasure.

Following this discovery, the local government has stepped in to confirm whether the objects are indeed antiques and historical relics.

If the discovered objects are proven to be genuine gold and are part of a historical relic, the government has the right to demand their return.

However, the government has stated that it will provide compensation to the party who found the objects.

Since the discovery of the suspected gold objects went viral, many people have flocked to the location of the find. This occurred in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra.

The government then asked the public not to participate in searching for these objects, as searching for suspected prehistoric objects at the bottom of the river is very risky and dangerous.

As previously reported, a man named Septa, a resident of Tanjung Lubuk Village, Kayuagung District, South Sulawesi, found a piece of metal with a motif of Ir. Soekarno's face.
