3. South Sumatra and Lampung: Indonesia's Robusta Coffee Hub
This region is known as the largest coffee producer in Indonesia by volume. Coffee plantations are spread across Lahat, Pagaralam, Way Kanan, and West Lampung.
Annual production: ±280,000 tons (Robusta dominant)
Taste characteristics: Strong, thick, and bitter, typical of espresso
Export destinations: Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia
The Port of Panjang in Lampung is the main gateway for coffee exports from southern Sumatra.
4. East Java: Ijen Raung Coffee and Mountain Tradition
The Bondowoso and Banyuwangi regions produce Ijen Raung Coffee, an Arabica with floral aromas and citrus flavors. This coffee has received a Geographical Indication certificate since 2013.

Annual production: ±30,000 tons
Main markets: Japan and Australia
5. South Sulawesi: Toraja Coffee and a Vibrant Culture
Toraja is more than just coffee; it is a cultural pride. Grown at altitudes of 1,400–1,800 meters, Toraja coffee has a distinctive caramel and spice aroma. Production: ±40,000 tons/year
