6. Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara
Another gold producer in West Nusa Tenggara Province is the Dompu mine. This mine is relatively new and is currently managed by PT. Sumbawa Timur Mining. This mine is estimated to hold substantial gold reserves, considering that West Nusa Tenggara's total gold potential reaches 507 million tons.
7. Gosowong, North Maluku
The Gosowong gold mine is located in Halmahera, North Maluku. This location is the third-largest gold producer in Indonesia.
The mine, managed by PT. Nusa Halmahera Minerals, is estimated to have gold reserves of an additional 26.9 million ounces. The Gosowong gold mine has been operating since 1996.
North Maluku appears to still have significant gold mining potential. Besides Gosowong, Ngailamo and Sesewet also have abundant gold reserves.
8. Martabe, South Tapanuli, North Sumatra
The Martabe mine is supervised by PT. Agincourt Resource and produced 391,000 ounces of gold in 2021. The mine, which will operate until 2034, has been operating since 2008 and covers an area of 1,303 square kilometers.
This gold mine, located in the hills of South Tapanuli, is estimated to have gold reserves of around 135 tons.
