The Role of Bullion Banks in Optimizing Gold Reserves

In the context of gold management, Thendra Chrisnanda, Director of Investor Relations at PT Hartadinata Abadi Tbk., explained the importance of bullion banks.

According to him, bullion banks will play a crucial role in optimizing gold reserves, strengthening the financial sector, and supporting economic growth.

Previously, PT Hartadinata Abadi collaborated with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) to produce exclusive SNI-standard gold bars.

Thendra added that with the establishment of this bullion bank, Indonesia has the potential to become a major player in the global bullion market. By 2023, Indonesia will be able to produce 132.5 tons of gold, placing it as the world's 7th largest gold producer.

However, Indonesia remains at the bottom of the gold value chain, with gold bar exports of around $5 billion and gold bar imports of around $2 billion per year.

President Prabowo emphasized that the launch of the gold bank is a positive achievement ahead of the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
